And no ice cream maker! My life has changed.
You can get some good ice cream here, but the flavors are kind of limited (as in usually there are one or two flavors to choose from at the grocery store I frequent), and it’s a little soft and different. I was making a dessert that absolutely insisted on having coffee ice cream, so I found Nigella’s recipe for no-churn coffee ice cream. The secret? Sweetened condensed milk, which I have always thought makes everything in life better. The finished product looks and tastes pretty much like what you would buy in the grocery at home. And I didn’t even have the double cream the recipe called for. Except now the one grocery store that I know of that carries heavy cream is out of cream. Hopefully they will be restocking soon.
